7-15 The Coming Holocaust

“So where do your your ideas of God come from?” Brandy and Sonny were back in my office. Brandy, who had trusted Christ two weeks ago peered to the left over her shoulder at Sonny, “Yeah, I’d like to know too!” Sonny didn’t know. He searched for answers but it was a struggle to find them. “I’ve never been to church much,” he said, “I don’t know much about God at all.” I shared one of the main principles of Christianity with the two of them – surrender. Jesus is the Lord. He wants us to acknowledge his right to be in command of our lives. We need to bow before Him and say “Yes Lord, I’ll do whatever you want me to do.” “So,” I asked, “Have you asked God to reveal himself to you?” Not really. “Are you willing to surrender your life to Him?” You could see that he was in the middle of a spiritual battle… torn… unsure… still struggling with belief... not ready yet. Pray for Sonny.

Today’s thought comes from Matthew 24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. 15 "Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 "Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

I just watched the video short, “A Thousand Questions.” “Why God?” it asks, “Why is there so much suffering here? There is so much pain and suffering and persecution and rape and injustice in all the earth.” According to Jesus, when we reach the end game, life is not going to be better; it is going to get worse! “Then there will be Great Tribulation such as has never been!” The worst of the worst! It will be so bad that attempted suicide will become a staple: men will seek death and not find it! They will want out, but like a recurring nightmare, many will not be able to get out. The epicenter of this tribulation period will be in Judea. Jerusalem will be ground zero, the focus of the explosive tribulation. But make no mistake about it; The Tribulation will come as a snare on the face of the whole earth! (Luke 21:35, Rev 3:10). The book of Revelation, written in @ AD 90 provides a gloomy map of the tribulation period made up of 3 series of 7 tragedies each, or 21 major worldwide traumas. First series: The 7 seal judgments make up the first half of the Tribulation. Second series: When the seventh seal is opened, it consists of seven “trumpet” judgments. Third Series: When the seventh trumpet is blown, a series of terrible tragedies is unleashed including the seven “bowl” or seven last plague judgments. The last bowl concludes this terrible time with the return of Christ. What can the world expect during this time? War, famine, pestilence, persecution, earthquakes, worldwide pollution, starvation, plagues, diseases, a scorched earth, darkness, supernatural oppression and near extinction of everything on the planet. The very thought of a holocaust of evil this bad is nauseating to me. I revolt at the thought and ask for mercy… That is what God intends, you know. He wants us to seek Him. He’s given us this time to do just that. Don’t wait until it’s too late! Seek Him now.

Dear Lord! I am horrified by the end of all days. It is a day of darkness and not light. I cry out to you for mercy. Please bring this nation and this world to seek you. May we realize that if we choose to walk away from you, we will be walking right into the path of the oncoming tribulation. But if we surrender to you, we will find hope.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, To comfort all who mourn,
