Today is May 6, this is time with God, I’m Pastor Dennis - I’ve been waiting here for you. Welcome to our life transforming community. This is your invitation to take one step forward every day in your relationship with Christ. We invite you to do something unbelievably radical. We invite you to deny yourself, take up your cross daily and follow Jesus

Boy am I sore this morning. That’s what happens when you have a desk job, and then you try to work in the yard all day! Yesterday I seeded the amphitheater and fertilized it. I cut a bunch of fallen branches and filled my trailer. Then I mowed our lower lawn And did some weed eating. It doesn’t sound like much, but it was for me. I also stopped by the bookstore to do some research on some books that are similar to one I want to publish. This is going to take some work. After that I went to work out with Kyle and Marcia. When I got home the Grand kids were here. And we played a little bit. Then Ken came and picked them up. I put a picture of Phil on his new backhoe working on the Amphitheater stage at the blog at www.timewithgod.mypodcast.com.

This week’s theme verse is Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Put on the full armor of God. Over the next few days we will review each piece of your armor to capture the essence of how to put it on. With the armor you can stand firm against the onslaught of life’s circumstances and the enemy’s attacks. It will make you a stable and powerful warrior. #1. Put on the “Belt Of Truth.” Imagine a thick black leather belt with the word “TRUTH” embossed on large silver buckle. You are a soldier of truth. You take the belt from the peg where it hangs. As you do, the word “TRUTH” catches a glint of sunshine, flashing a bright and blinding beam across the room. You solemnly buckle it around your waist with these words, “I choose truth! I pledge never to lie. I commit myself as a seeker of God’s Word so I can discern the difference between truth and error.” #2 Put on the Breastplate of Righteousness. Your armor is of the finest workmanship. It was forged in the fires of heaven, not by angels, but the Son of God himself drove the hammer to the anvil that fashioned its beautiful design. You pick it up and are surprised at how incredibly light it is, yet unlike any earthly metal, it is completely impervious to every attack. It is made to fit you perfectly. Engraved around the neckline is a single word “Righteousness.” As you pull the breastplate over your head, you whisper in wonder, “By faith, I choose Your righteousness. I yield my heart and soul to live by the old code of virtue and purity. I pledge to do my best to become just like Jesus… by faith.” As you lace the sides of your breastplate, you feel invincible. There is not a weapon formed or a temptation that can pierce your armor. So long as you have it on, you’re protected.

Dear Lord. I choose truth! I pledge never to lie. I commit myself as a seeker of God’s Word so I can discern the difference between truth and error. By faith, I choose Your righteousness. I yield my heart and soul to live by the old code of virtue and purity. I pledge to do my best to become just like Jesus… by faith.
