Genesis 47: 13-31; Psalm 7

Today is May 10, this is time with God, I’m Pastor Dennis - I’ve been waiting here for you. Welcome to our life transforming community. TWG is a covenant to seek the LORD God with all our heart and with all our soul. If you seek Him, He will be found by you.

Today is Saturday. It’s 6:30 in the morning. My Grand daughter Esther just poked her head out of the bedroom. It’s not time to get up yet! I need another hour of quiet! All 4 of them spent the night last night. Yesterday I worked all day on the Mother’s day message “Honor Your Mother.” I also made sure power point was ready for our song service. Bill was there for quite a while working on the handicapped parking. Jim stopped in, and then Jim Pynch drove up. We took off to his place where he gave us some wool that he thought might be good for sound deadening in the new building. Susan is going to try to make a sample from it. I put a picture of the three of them looking at the wool on the blog at timewithgod.mypodcast.com. Last night I came home to the grand kids. That was nice. Susan was sick all evening with the flu. We’ll see how well she is doing this morning. Jeannie wrote me a note… We enjoyed listening to Time with God while we ate breakfast this morning. Thanks! That must take a lot of your time to do that every day. We really do both appreciate you very much.

This week’s theme verse is Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Put on the full armor of God. We are doing a review of each piece of your armor to capture the essence of how to put it on. With the armor you can stand firm against the onslaught of life’s circumstances and the enemy’s attacks. It will make you a stable and powerful warrior. Today we want to do a final review of each piece and how it can defeat the enemy’s attacks.
#1. Put on the “Belt Of Truth.” It will defend against Deception – To believe a lie – TRUTH is the belt that holds life together. “I choose truth! I commit myself as a seeker of God’s Word so I can discern the difference between truth and error.”
#2 Put on the Breastplate of Righteousness. It will defend against Temptation. “By faith I pledge to do my best to become just like Jesus… by faith.”
#3. Put on the “Combat Boots of the Gospel of Peace.” It will defend against anxiety, fear and depression. “I pledge to believe and announce the Gospel of Peace to all who will hear.”
#4. Take up The shield of Faith. It will defend against doubt and insecurity. “I will be faithful. I choose to believe God even in the deepest agony of battle.”
#5. Put on the Helmet of Salvation. It will defend against the frontal attack of evil circumstances and death. “I trust Your salvation to give me boldness in life and in death. My salvation is settled in heaven.”
#6. Take up the sword of the Spirit. It will defend against distraction. no time for God? No defense. “I take oh, sword the Word of God for my defense! To spend Time With God.”
#7. Take your orders in Prayer. It will defend against confusion and disobedience. “I pray that I may be faithful in carrying out Your commands. I’ll seek your guidance and protection in prayer”
If you will put on the full armor of God and keep it on you will be protected. There is not a weapon formed or a temptation that can pierce your armor.

Dear Lord. Today I put on the full Armor of God. I choose to believe and seek your truth! I pledge to do my best to become just like Jesus… by faith. I will seek to announce the Gospel of Peace to all who will hear. I will be faithful even in the deepest agony of battle. I trust you in life and in death to save me. I will spend Time With your Word and Time with You in prayer. Give me your orders and I will obey.
