Today is April 12, this is time with God, I’m Pastor Dennis - I’ve been waiting here for you. Welcome to our life transforming community. TWG is a covenant to seek the LORD God with all our heart and with all our soul. If you seek Him, He will be found by you.
Look at that. It’s the weekend already, ready or not! I actually had a very productive day yesterday, thank you! I finished my sermon on Religion and politics. It could be a hot potato! Just what does the Bible say about our civic responsibility? John stopped in to see me. He was working on a rental and just stopped in on the way through to say “Hi!” and tell me about his Evangelism Explosion experiences! Both of us have had some very, shall I say “interesting” ones lately! “South County,” need I say more? (Is that politically correct?) After work, I worked out with Kyle & Marcia. What a beautiful day. The three of us took a walk/jog for a few miles. Today I need to get taxes finished! Good luck to me. Then referee a soccer game and it will be out to music practice. I put a picture of the ladies cleaning up the kitchen after our banquet on Sunday at www.timewithgod.mypodcast.com. Take a peek!
This week’s theme verse is Romans 8:31-34. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Ever asked, “Hey, would you pray for me?” I don’t know about you, but I could always use a little more prayer power. Why is that? Is it because my prayers alone are not enough? Is it because I don’t know how to pray well enough? Or is it because I don’t pray enough? Not sure… maybe all three. But pray for me anyway! Or at least pray with me because I am praying for myself too. Prayer is powerful. God does answer prayer. He’s done it for me time after time. But if you still feel inadequate about your praying ability, these verses in Romans 8 should help. Verse 27 - The Holy Spirit makes intercession for us. Verse 34 - Jesus also makes intercession for us. So the next time you feel the need of prayer, go ahead and recruit a few or more prayer warriors down here, but just make a mental note of this and hang it on the refrigerator of your mind… You already have the big guns praying for you! Jesus and the Holy Spirit! Do you need prayer power? They know you do! They have your 6 covered! Feeling better yet? Start praying!
Dear Father. I want to thank you for hearing me. Now I know you hear me because you have Jesus and the Holy Spirit praying for me. I am simply overwhelmed that you have chosen to surround me with your prayers and with your love. I am truly blessed because you have blessed me! I am amazed! Jesus is praying for me!
