Today is March 12, this is time with God, I’m Pastor Dennis - I’ve been waiting here for you. Welcome to our life transforming community. You are part of a devotional community where we put Christ first and our commitment is to spend time with each other and Time with God every day.

It was a busy and fun day yesterday down at the ranch. I kept busy working on Easter ”The Passion Play Reloaded” an audio and visual presentation of passion plays past. I began working on a flyer to go out. I also spent a bit of time organizing my life. Cary and Carl stopped in to visit. Jayn was at church working on the fire pit. I have a picture of her at www.timewithgod.mypodcast.com. She was saying just how much Ladies Bible Study revolutionized her priorities. The family has always been her last priority, but now she is putting Don first (after God) and what a difference it is making in their lives. After work, I returned to church for a men’s meeting. That was a great time of camaraderie. What a blast to meet regularly with these great guys and discover how God is working in their lives. I also posted a little of the discussions I’ve been having with folks on gambling since the message on it at http://pinegrovecommunitychurch.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1205328937 check it out. I got an email from one of our TWG subscribers – Susie who writes:

I am in San Francisco as I write this....and in an hour will head for Atlanta.? Please pray that I will find ground transportation easily when I get there...to take me to my conference.? At least God gave me a great day to fly. The weather clear across the country is supposed to be nice. Have a great day....Thank you for posting those blogs I love hearing what’s going on in Roseburg - susan

This week’s theme verse. Matthew 5:13-16 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

You are the light of the world. Light is a good thing. Darkness is comforting if you want to sleep, but most things that I do require light. Light and darkness have unique characteristics. Light requires some kind of source like the sun. It has energy and heat that brings life, growth and activity to the earth. Light travels at 2586 feet per second (correct me if I’m wrong). Darkness on the other hand has no source. It is simply is the absence of light. And darkness does not travel, it retreats from the light. And perpetual darkness is most often accompanied by intense temperature drop and death of all things. You are the light of the world. Christians, by their presence are a source of light, energy and warmth (really a reflection of the “sun” of God – the real source of light). We bring life, hope, growth and springtime to the world. Christians, by our character and presence drive away the darkness and despair of the world. How hard is that? Just turn on the light and darkness will flee. It will dash for the shadows and corners of the room. Darkness can not advance. It only follows the retreat of the light. So come on, shine your light so people can see it. Don’t be shy. Let your love for Jesus be evident in all you say and do.

Dear Son of God, you are the light of life. I want to reflect your glory and praise. I want to bask in your joy. I want to let my character be such that it dispels the darkness around me. I know the world lives in the dismal caverns of darkness. I don’t just want to bring hope and happiness to my own little home, I want everyone around me to benefit from the blessings of the light of the world. I want to let my light shine.
