We are your people who are called by Your name. We humble themselves, and pray and seek your face, and turn from our wicked ways. Oh Lord, hear from heaven, and forgive our sin and heal our land. Now may your eyes will be open and your ears be attentive to prayer made by us today.

O LORD, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you. 7 O our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in your presence and will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us.' But now here are men coming to distress us. O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face them. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

LORD God, there is no other God in heaven or on earth, You who keep Your promises and show mercy to Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts. Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. Yet listen the prayer of Your servant, O LORD my God, and listen to my cry. Hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and when You hear, forgive. If anyone sins against his neighbor, and return and confess Your name, then hear from heaven, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; whatever prayer is needed, when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to you: then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men), that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways as long as they live in the land which You gave to our fathers. and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul then hear their prayer, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You. Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to my prayer. So that we may be clothed with salvation, And rejoice in goodness.

"positive thinking" is no weapon against fear. Only positive faith can rout the black menace of fear and give life radiance. Marion Hilliard
O my God, I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift up my face to You, my God; for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has grown up to the heavens. Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been very guilty of many iniquities. And now for a little while grace has been shown from the LORD our God, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival. For we were slaves To sin Yet you did not forsake us; but you extended mercy to us and saved us. And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken Your commandments, And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, since You our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, should we again break Your commandments? Would You not be angry with us until You had consumed us? O LORD God, You are righteous, Here we are before You, in our guilt, though no one can stand before You because of this!".

If Christ seldom makes offers without demands, He also seldom makes demands without offers. He offers His strength to enable us to meet His demands. John Stott
Hear my cause, O LORD, Attend to my cry; Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips. You have tested my heart; You have tried me day and night; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. I have kept away from the paths of evil men. Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip. I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous loving kindness. You save those who trust in You. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me. As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

Above all things put on love And let the peace of God rule in your hearts and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and warning one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

Discontent is a sin that is its own punishment and makes men torment themselves; it makes the spirit sad, the body sick, and all the enjoyments sour; it is the heaviness of the heart and the rottenness of the bones. It is a sin that is its own parent. It arises not from the condition, but from the mind. As we find Paul contented in a prison, so Ahab discontent in a palace. Matthew Henry
Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And listen to my cry. In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For You will answer me. For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God. Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore. For You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and full of mercy and truth. Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me!

Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people or gifted people, but for deep people. Richard Foster
Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. You know all our iniquities, Our secret sins are not hidden from you. The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet they are filled with labor and sorrow; For we are soon cut off, and we fly away. So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Return, O LORD! And have compassion on Your servants. Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days! Give us as many happy days as we have had days of sorrow. May we, Your servants see your works, And Your glory. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands

You show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers and their children after them—the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the LORD of hosts. God's agenda for our lives may be far different from our own. He cares more about our character than our convenience, comfort or cash. Joseph M. Stowell
To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him. We have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. Yes, we all have transgressed Your law, and have not to obeyed Your voice; therefore the curse has been poured out on us, because we have sinned against You. And You have confirmed His words, which You spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us great disaster. All this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth. And now, O Lord our God, we have sinned, we have done wickedly! O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your people, for we are a reproach to all those around us. Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord’s sake cause Your face to shine on us. O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, and for Your people are called by Your name."

O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our fathers and all the people of the land. O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day—because of the unfaithfulness which we have committed against You. O Lord, to us belongs shame of face because we have sinned against You. To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness.

"Ah, LORD, I know that You are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, One who relents from doing harm. I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. "Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. For You cast me into the deep And the floods surrounded me. 4 Then I said, ‘I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’ For You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD, my God. When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple. I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Christ had no interest in gathering vast crowds of professed adherents who would melt away as soon as they found out what following Him actually demanded of them. In our own presentation of Christ’s gospel, therefore, we need to lay a similar stress on the cost of following Christ and make sinners face it soberly before we urge them to respond to the message of free forgiveness. In common honesty, we must not conceal the fact that free forgiveness in one sense will cost everything. J. I. Packer
Lord you have said that whoever believes in You will do greater works than these. And that whatever we ask in Your name, that You will do, so that the Father may be glorified. So Lord empower us, more than anything to show our love for you by keeping your commandments. May your Holy Spirit be our helper and may we be aware that he lives inside us and will be in us forever. This we know is the truth, because we know Him. Thank you for making us part of your family, because once we were orphans, but now that you live in us, we live also.
