Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, and may you be enriched in everything so you can give to others liberally. For your gracious service not only supplies the needs of others, but also will make us thankful to God for his abundant goodness. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!

Lord grant that the FIRE of my heart may melt the lead of my feet. Unknown

We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to You, Lord who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to You be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.

The highest science, the loftiest speculation, the mightiest philosophy, which can ever engage the attention of a child of God, is the name, the nature, the person, the work, the doings, and the existence of the great God whom he calls his Father. There is something exceedingly improving to the mind in a contemplation of the Divinity. It is a subject so vast, that all our thoughts are lost in its immensity; so deep, that our pride is drowned in its infinity. C. H. Spurgeon

Lord help us not to be anxious, but instead to bring everything to you in prayer, asking with thanksgiving that you will meet our needs, and lord fill us with the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, may it guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Please help us to focus only on things that are true, noble, right, pure, pleasant, things that are of good report, only things that are of high caliber and praiseworthy— help us to meditate on these things.

The disciples of Christ, like their Lord and Master, often feel themselves alone. The season of sickness, the hour of bereavement, the period of trial, is often the occasion of increased depression from the painful consciousness of the solitude and loneliness in which it is borne. The heavenly way we travel is more or less a lonely way. We have at most but few companions. It is a "little flock," and only here and there we meet a traveler, who, like ourselves, is journeying towards the Zion of God… If, indeed, true religion consisted in mere profession, then there were many for Christ. But if the true travelers are men of broken heart, poor in spirit, who mourn for sin, who know the music of the Shepherd's voice, who follow the Lamb, who delight in the throne of grace, and who love the place of the cross, then there are but 'few' with whom the true saints journey to heaven in fellowship and communion. Octavius Winslow

I pray that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; I pray that the faithful Lord will establish you and guard you from the evil one. I pray that you will do the things commanded by the Word. Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

In short, I will preach it, teach it, write it, but I will constrain no man by force, for faith must come freely without compulsion. Take myself as an example. I opposed indulgences and all the papists, but never with force. I simply taught, preached, and wrote God's Word; otherwise I did nothing. And while I slept , or ate with my friends Philip and Amsdorf, the Word so greatly weakened the papacy that no prince or emperor ever inflicted such losses upon it. I did nothing; the Word did everything. Martin Luther

I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as I remember you in my prayers I love to see you all, you fill me with joy, because I am persuaded that your faith is genuine. I pray that you will stir up the gift that is in you because God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I pray that you will not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord

The art of ‘being wise’ is ‘the art of what to overlook.’ The petty and mundane steal much of our time. William James

My heart rejoices in the LORD; I will exalt Him. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation. No one is holy like the LORD, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God. Let no one Talk arrogantly, For the LORD knows the heart; and he weighs our actions. The strength of the mighty men are broken, And those who stumbled he gives strength. He makes the rich beg for bread, and provides food for the hungry. The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. For the earth is the LORD’S, and He has founded it. He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. For by strength no man shall prevail. The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken in pieces; from heaven He will thunder against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. He will give strength to His people, And exalt them.

For Your word’s sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all these great things, to make Your servant know them. You are great, O LORD GOD. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You. And who is like Your people, whom You came down to redeem for Yourself as a people and to do great and awesome deeds for us? For You have made us Your very own people forever; and You, LORD, have become our God. When we sin against You, and You become angry with us yet when we come to ourselves and repent, saying, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong, and have committed wickedness’; and when we return to You with all our heart and with all our soul hear our prayer and our supplications, and maintain our cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You. LORD God, there is no other God in heaven or on earth, You who keep Your promises and show mercy to Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts. Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. Yet listen the prayer of Your servant, O LORD my God, and listen to my cry. Hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and when You hear, forgive. If anyone sins against his neighbor, and return and confess Your name, then hear from heaven, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; whatever prayer is needed, when each one knows his own burden and his own grief, and spreads out his hands to you: then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men), that they may fear You, to walk in Your ways as long as they live in the land which You gave to our fathers. and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul then hear their prayer, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You. O my God, I am too ashamed and humiliated to lift up my face to You, my God; for our iniquities have risen higher than our heads, and our guilt has grown up to the heavens. Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been very guilty of many iniquities. And now for a little while grace has been shown from the LORD our God, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival. For we were slaves To sin Yet you did not forsake us; but you extended mercy to us and saved us. And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken Your commandments, And after all that has come upon us for our evil deeds and for our great guilt, since You our God have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, should we again break Your commandments? Would You not be angry with us until You had consumed us? O LORD God, You are righteous, Here we are before You, in our guilt, though no one can stand before You because of this!"
