Isaiah 24-25, Hosea 3; Luke 5

Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem. The desperate need today is not for a greater number of intelligent people or gifted people, but for deep people. Richard Foster

Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. You know all our iniquities, Our secret sins are not hidden from you. The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet they are filled with labor and sorrow; For we are soon cut off, and we fly away. So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Return, O LORD! And have compassion on Your servants. Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days! Give us as many happy days as we have had days of sorrow. May we, Your servants see your works, And Your glory. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands
